Tests for Infertile Couples prior to IVF ICSI treatment with Dr. Charles MPL.
Your
husband’s blood
will be
tested for
markers of
Hepatitis B,
Hepatitis C, Syphilis (VDRL),
Human Immunodeficiency
Virus (HIV).
If he
is known
to have
a low sperm
count, his
blood may
also be
tested for
reproductive hormones.
His semen
will be
tested for
the sperm
count, quality
and movement.
Culture for
bacteria and
mycoplasma is
also done.
Your
urine will
be tested
for kidney
and bladder
problems. Your
blood will
be tested
for hemoglobin
concentration (anemia),
Hemoglobin electrophoresis
(Thalassemia), blood
group, German
Measles immunity
(Rubella), Hepatitis
B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis (VDRL),
Human Immunodeficiency
Virus (HIV)
and Toxoplasma
IgM. A
Thin Prep cervical smear and
a swab
from your
cervix (chlamydia)
will also
be sent
for testing.
Other
tests will
be ordered
when necessary.
